MESSAGE TEMPLATES TO RECRUIT SMRAs
All the basics.
INITIAL MESSAGES
Hey! Hope all is well, my name is YOURNAME and I help run a local sales office @NJ.Vector in Parsippany and we’re hiring for a social media marketing position. I noticed that you had a large following on IG so I figured it might be a good fit. The pay is $17.50/hour + bonuses and we work with people/athletes looking for a little extra income around school and/or on top of another job. Would you be interested in hearing a little bit more?
WANTS MORE INFO / WHAT'S THE JOB
Great! So the position is creating content for social media advertising for our sales & customer service position. Our social media marketing assistants help schedule potential applicants for interviews and help us advertise/brand ourselves on social media. It’s $17.50 an hour with paid training and flexible hours. It's definitely a lot easier to set up a google meet to go over everything with you & see if it’s a good fit rather than typing out paragraphs lol. Here is a link to our manager @LeleHartman 's Calendly so we can set up an interview and go through the job description: https://calendly.com/lelehartman/smra-interview Let me know if you have any questions or anything!
URGENCY (Send right after link)
Just a heads up though...the positions we have are on a first applied first considered basis so if you have a sec, I would submit an application asap. :) Once you do, we will reach out to you with more info. Good luck!
FOLLOWING UP
Left on Open
Hey! Just checking in, are you still interested in hearing more about it? We're filling positions on a first applied first considered basis so I just wanted to reach out to you 1 more time in case you just forgot to respond.
No Response: Follow Up
Hi again NAME! If you can, could you share the post I just put up on my wall about the position? I know you mentioned you would reach out to a few people and I appreciate it. I’m just trying to make sure people know about the opportunity!
VOICE MEMO IF NO ANSWER
Hey THEIRNAME! This is YOURNAME. I'm just reaching out via voice message, uh just so that you know I'm a real person. So, hey! Let me know if you have interest. Either way, a response would be awesome. Talk to you soon!
If you previously sent them a sales rep message
If they never saw the message: Hold down the message and unsend it so it dissapears. Then send original SMRA message!
If they saw the message and/or responded
Hi NAME ! I know I reached out to you back in MONTH about a sales rep position but we have another position that I think you'd be a better fit for. We're hiring for a part time social media assistant & receptionist. The pay is $17.50 an hour + bonuses with super flexible hours and paid training. Would you be available for me to tell you more about the position? And/or do you know anyone who would be interested?
Questions
Can I think about it / get back to you?
With the high volume of applicants, our interviews do fill very quickly. If you would like to secure a spot in our interview pipeline, I would suggest scheduling ASAP. If it's not for you at that point then no big deal, but if it's something you see yourself enjoying then we can figure out online training for you. My manager can also reach out with more info about the position, what’s the best number for you?
What would be the content I'm posting?
Yeah, so the content would be to drive awareness/interest to our sales rep position. This would be story content and some of it is provided by the company, although it could also be user-created as well. If you're interested/want more specific details, you can send me your number and I'll reach out!
“Where are you guys located?”
Our office is physically located in Parsippany! Did you want me to send you a link so you can get more info and apply?
What are the hours?
The schedules are super flexible. We work with a lot of students, so it's normal for them to work around other stuff they have going on like classes, sports, and even another job. Especially with everything being online right now. If accepted we'll work out a schedule that works best for you. It's usually just 5-10 hours a week. Did you want me to send you a link so you can get more info and apply?
“What’s the company name/product?”
Yea of course! We're part of the Legacy Division of Vector. Our website is www.StudentWorkJersey.com We're looking to hire receptionists to help with our social media marketing/branding and appointment setting for our entry level sales & customer service position. A quick call or Zoom is definitely easier for me to explain everything instead of typing out paragraphs lol. Did you want me to send you a link so you can get more info and apply?
How long will the interview be?
That depends. I'll cover a full job description for you and answer any questions you have so if all goes well it could take up to 45 minutes. Did you want me to send you a link so you can get more info and apply?
Is this a scam/pyramid scheme/MLM (if they continue to argue, DON'T respond. Your energy is worth more than that)
USA Today wouldn't award us as the #12 best company to work for in the United States if that were the case. I wouldn't waste your time. There are no start-up costs, recruiting plays no part of our pay-program, and we have a guaranteed pay regardless of sales. In the interview we literally go through the position in full detail and you would be able to get a really good gauge for if it is a good fit for you. The worst case is you spend 30 minutes, find out more about an opportunity and get some interview experience. Don’t let negative untrue things you hear prevent you from learning the right information in the interview.
“I already have a job.”
No problem! Just to let you know, our schedules are super flexible. It's usually just 5-10 hours a week We're looking to fill positions right away so if you change your mind or know someone who might be interested here's the link with more info and a short application: www.StudentWorkJersey.com/receptionist
Not Interested
No problem, have a good semester and let me know if things change or if you know anyone looking for work feel free to pass along the link www.StudentWorkJersey.com/receptionist
"I’ll let my friends know” (but they don’t show interest in applying)
Thank you!! Btw what do you have planned for this semester? All of our students have a chance at different scholarships as well as internship experience to put on their resume.
(Then I send the next message as a back to back message) ~ If you want, you can check out the link too and see if you like it. www.StudentWorkJersey.com
"How do we know each other?"
- FACEBOOK: To be honest, I'm not totally sure! You were in my suggested friends list and you seemed super familiar :)
- INSTAGRAM: No prob! I just checked out a few of the senior accounts in the area and saw you were following them. I thought it'd be a great way to get the word out. Are you looking for work currently?

Oh and if you can, could you share the post I just put up on my wall about the position? I’m trying to get the word out and some of your friends might be looking for flexible work.
(NOTE: DO NOT overlook this part if the prospect is popular. Owen's Assistant Manager, Jami Perkins, from my only private school heard about Vector from a no show sharing my post on Facebook. She had a 10k SC1 push and was my top rep for the summer 26k in sales)
Why is this important to post?
- Skylar Gilley, 6k fast starter, first training seminar Owen ran in his office did not reply to the message he sent her, but she did apply because she saw the application on her news feed because he posted this.
- Because I am friends with 2 thousand students in my territory when I post a work opening for the summer almost all of them see it on their news feed.
- This goes hand in hand with the direct messaging because this is the post they should share.
